Same Dress. 30 Days. Day 17 or "How I Was a 'Sheer' Genius"

I was a "sheer genius" today because I put this sheer blue dress-thingie over the top of my Dress. Someone tried to tell me that I am cheating by putting a dress over a Dress, but I quickly pointed out that the sheer thingie MUST have SOMETHING underneath it, otherwise it is 100% inappropriate for school. I usually wear it with a slip underneath (my mom ALWAYS wants us to wear slips under everything we wear!) and it is a perfect summer-y dress. However, today is served it's purpose of keeping me warm in this COLD weather! (It IS cold for Southern California---I swear!) I love the combination of black and blue---it reminds me of the time that I got not one but TWO black eyes from being hit by a rogue disc during a game of frisbee golf. (see below photo!) It was about one week before my friend Erin's wedding in Maui (in which I was a bridesmaid---of course!) and I had two black eyes for the occasion. Awesome. But, it must explain my fascination with the combination of black and blue :)
So, here's how I "put it together" today:
1. My right eye has been twitching NON-STOP since I got back from Etna, so I thought I should probably wear my glasses....they are super cute RayBan spectacles---clear in the front and black on the sides. I love them and I should probably wear them more often just because I can see so much better with them---and isn't that the whole idea of glasses???? I also took a survey: Do Guys Make Passes at Girls Who Wear Glasses? And 4 out of the 5 guys I surveyed said: YES! They like glasses And for that one guy who said no---you know who you are---RUDE! :)
2. The sheer overlay is from Forever 21 (imagine THAT!). It has belt loops, but I'm not sure what belt it came with---I mix it up whenever I wear this in order to fit the occasion. During the summer I will wear it with a white or brown woven belt (white with flats or sandals, brown with my brown heels) and when I am trying to dress it up I'll wear my black belt and then wear heels. Today I wore just a black ribbon belt that I found in the bottom of my closet. Amazing the things that must be hiding there!
3. I wore my awe-ssssssss-ome (get it? Because it's a ssssssssnake!) snake bracelet. My sister got this for me for Christmas a few years ago. I think it's from the Marc Jacobs accessories store in New York. This was the same year that she bought me my beetle ring. Random, but awesome.
4. I wore black, ribbed tights from Target (I think!) with my "Franco Sarto" spectator-esque gray and black heels. These shoes are SO ADORBS! The only way that I can desribe them is to say that they are SOLID. Some heels can be wobbly or the actual heel might not feel very sturdy, but these ones are perfect. They are just a "smidge" too small, but I still love them so much! I will wear them until they wear out and then I will just have the heel replaced and keep wearing them. I love them THAT much!
I'm so happy that it's Wednesday today! There is not a better feeling than to have Friday just around the corner! (even though we DID have Monday off!) The thing that I wore that made me the most happy today was my shoes. Those shoes rock! Also, I LOVE my glasses (despite the one DUDE---who CLEARLY has NO fashion sense-- that said he didn't make passes at girls who wear glasses!) Who cares what anyone else thinks, right? Besides, my MOM wears glasses and she is just about the prettiest girl in all the land, so glasses are great. :)
