Same Dress. 30 Days. Day 19 or "How I Wore A Sparkly Top"

It never occurred to me to do what I did with my dress today...the material is thin enough and stretchy enough that I was able to take off the top part and tie the sleeves around my waist and just wear a sparkly tank top! It was really weird to not be wearing long sleeves for the first time in 19 days! So, my Dress was tranformed into a skirt---and, like a for real skirt today---not just a dress with a shirt over it! (So I wasn't cheating today, Daniela and Justin!) Is anyone else SO HAPPY THAT today is Friday???? I have mentioned before that I teach 5th grade Sunday School with my Best Pal Matthew Lee Crane, and tonight we "get" to go ice skating with the Little Rascals....yahooo!!!! Instead of spending my Friday night as per my usual---at a Warren High School sporting event---I will be ice skating with 10-20 ten-year-olds! (Sidenote: Matt is a REALLY good ice skater. Me? Not so much. Let's just say that I broke my finger while roller skating one time and I've never been the same on a pair of skates since!) Here's to an adventurous Friday night! And.....

Here's what I wore today:

1. I wore my awesome BEDAZZLED gray tank top from Forever 21---yep---THAT store. (This is getting to be slightly embarrassing!) I love this shirt because it h as a combination of some of my most favorite things---beads, sequins, glittery objects---oooooh, ahhhhhh :) Plus, gray is a great color---it really does kind of go with all of the other colors in the spectrum!

2. I like to wear "do-dads" in my hair almost every day. This can be a headband, a clip, a flower, a beanie, a crocheted headband, a bow....the options are seemingly endless, right? Well, today I wore a gray flower that is attached to a bobby-pin to swoop the shorter hairs away from my face. (I got this in my stocking from "Santa"....don't worry Mom and Dad, I didn't break THAT so you don't have to buy me another one!)
3. I wore my 3/4 length sleeve coral colored jacket over the sparkly top....like I have said before, gray goes with EVERYTHING, sparkles are AWESOME, and a nice POP! of color makes every outfit special! I am pretty sure I achieved all of those with this outfit! Also, CHECK OUT the sleeves of my Dress....I wrapped each one around myself and then tied them in the front. It achieved a "wrap" skirt kind of look. ADORBS.
4. Last but not least, I wore my KICK-ASS combat-style boots. These boots are awesome. They are very "My So-Called Life"-esque. :) If you followed my shoes blog, you will remember these as being my most expensive pair of shoes in my closet. BUT, they are also probably the COOLEST pair of shoes in my closet. Unlike my brown and black boots (which I could wear all day, every day), these boots are meant for certain special outfits only. They evoke a certain persona and look. I put them on with some trepidation today, because I just wasn't sure that this outfit was deserving of these amazing boots, but it all ended up okay! I received a lot of teenager compliments on these---I'm not sure that adults are on board with this look, but guess what? I don't really care! Because a super hot Nordstrom salesman convinced me that I NEEDED to buy these (commission, much?) and due to the fact that he was smokin' hot, I made the purchase! :) LOVE THEM!
TGIF! My friends, can I get an "Amen" if anyone else out there feels SO HAPPY that it's FRIDAY?????? Ahhhhh, there is no other feeling like the feeling of a weekend stretched out in front of me. So many possibilities, so much fun to be had....but first, I skate---on the ice---say a little prayer for me! Let's hope I don't break a bone! :) Peace out!
