Same Dress. 30 Days. Day 8 or "The Day I Wore 2 Dresses"

So I woke up today and all I wanted to do was wear sweatpants under my Dress. That's right, my KAR "I Heart Dance" sequin-y sweatpants. But alas, I HAD to be a grown-up who has a real job today! :) Sometimes I miss being able to dress like a teenager---ie. the only thing I cared about was making sure I wasn't breaking dress-code. I credit my parents (Yo Yo, Mom and Dad) for my fashion sense---or whatever it is---because they always let me wear whatever I wanted, as long as I wasn't breaking dress-code. Fast-forward 20 years and here I am, doing the same thing, except just trying to be a more mature version of my teenaged self. Does that make sense? I guess that's why I love accessories and colorful clothes so much!

Which brings me to my outfit today....

It looked like a skirt and a top, but it was actually my dress with ANOTHER strapless dress over it that I folded under and then with a belt over that. I also wore my fave peep-toe NineWest heels which I purchased while I was student teaching. These shoes are so old, and I contemplate getting rid of them all the time, but then today the coolest thing happened---one of our most severely handicapped students was walking down the hallway today and I was walking behind him. He stopped, turned around, looked at me and said "You're shoes are cool". Any gloomy-ness that I had going on in my day up until then was washed away all with 4 simple words. I love my job.

So here's what I really did: seeeeeeeeee....there's my black dress creeping out from underneath my "skirt"! This was kind of a challenge because I kept having to check and make sure that my Dress wasn't showing under my "dress" :)

My poor students think that I am so strange, I am sure. I can just hear them, in 10 years, talking about "that weird teacher, Miss Davis, remember her?"....just like my friends and I talk about our former teachers. It's all in love :)
Ta-Da! See, it's actually a strapless dress, from Charlotte Russe in the Stonewood Mall. For the record, this store is not my most favorite but occasionally I CAN find something. Case in point....this fabulous dress! I also wore my favorite sparkly headband (a little sparkle is always a good thing!) and if you notice, my hair always starts off DOWN and then ends up in a pony tail by the end of 1st period! My hairdresser is constantly reprimanding me because my hair is starting to naturally go back because I wear it in a ponytail with a headband almost every day! It's easy and keeps my hair out of my face...kind of like the side braid, duh! (Also, if you look verrrrrrry closely, you can see my "Friday Night Lights" Tim Riggins magnet holding up that paper on my whiteboard to the left of my head! He's such a babe! If you don't watch FNL, then get on that! It's amaze-balls...as my sister would say!)
I am so excited about some awesome tights that I am going to wear tomorrow! Yay!

P.S....hello to my 11 readers (that's a shout out for you, Kim K.!)
